Overview
This article provides information related to the difference between GFI EndPointSecurity Volume Encryption and Windows BitLocker Encryption.
Information
- The main difference between EndPointSecurity Volume Encryption and Windows BitLocker Encryption is that while Volume Encryption is configured from the GFI EndPointSecurity, the Windows BitLocker Encryption is configured and enforced from the operating system and GFI EndPointSecurity only offers control of permissions on the encrypted files.
- In addition to that, only the Windows BitLocker Encryption has the option to set permissions for the users of the Encryption policy. For the user using the Volume Encryption, the permission is set under the devices or port categories.
- Refer to Configuring security encryption for more details about how to configure both policies.
